People today are more combative, more irritable, more ready to physically fight. It seems that everyone is on the edge of personally exploding and there are many suggested reasons for this, most blame it on the pandemic. Here are a couple of examples:
WSJ: August 13, 2021 – Pacific Northwest Faces Another Extreme Heat Wave as Much of U.S. Bakes!
“More than 145 million Americans on Thursday lived in areas under excessive-heat advisories from the National Weather Service. Warnings spanned the Pacific Northwest, the Northeast and parts of Missouri and Illinois while advisories blanketed parts of the Northeast, Midwest and South. Over one million residents were in areas under various fire-weather advisories, which indicate hot, dry and windy conditions that could quickly spread wildfires, according to the National Weather Service.”
The Seattle Times: August 30, 2021 – Police investigate 2 deaths, flurry of weekend shootings across Seattle!
“Seattle police are investigating multiple weekend shootings that left two people dead, at least two people wounded and sent officers seeking suspects in neighborhoods across the city….There were 420 cases of gunfire in Seattle last year, and 370 so far in 2021, far higher than normal, interim police Chief Adrian Diaz said Saturday.
Florida – Channel 6 News: August 21, 2021 – “Highs Saturday will top out in the mid-to-upper 90s. With the rich humidity factored in, the heat index will rise to 100-110. Remember, the heat index isn’t just a number to make it seem hotter.”
NYTimes: September 5, 2021 – Ex-Marine Sharpshooter Kills 4 and Fires at Deputies in Florida!
“The gunman, a veteran of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, fatally shot a man, two women and an infant inside two homes near Lakeland, Fla., the authorities said. A girl, 11, was wounded.”
Here is a few more shootings from HOT Florida:
June 10, 2021 – 3 Dead in Shooting at Publix Supermarket in Florida
May 30, 2021 – 2 Dead and Over 20 Hurt in Shooting at a Florida Banquet Hall
So what is this all about? Too many guns? Not a thorough enough background check? Too many people couped up for too long? Why are so many people so angry?
Here is my question: Is it just too hot? Are the increased temperatures making everyone so irritable and crazy? Is the heat with wearing a mask overheating our brains?
IS CLIMATE CHANGE DRIVING OUR BAD BEHAVIOR? Something to think about!
